Where Will You Be On The Royal Wedding Day?
That’s the question which about a billion people worldwide will be asking very, very soon. Because, whether I like it or not, an event more important than The Big Bang to many people is about to take place.
Yes, a very royal wedding. Forget hybrid cars, oil spills and earthquake damage.
I’m never likely to forget the royal wedding, am I?
Everywhere I go right now, I am assaulted by either words or pictures or sometimes, if I am really unlucky, both: it’s either old ladies nattering about how dapper William’s going to look, or Mum’s debating what William should do with his hair (and I’m no hair expert but I’d say the best thing he can do is hack the whole lot off and never, ever let it grow back. It is truly hideous, is it not? The expression “quiche head” comes to mind…).
I have no problem with the fact that I am being constantly assaulted, however. Why? Because the Bank Holiday is coming up, and for me – as everyone – that means no work and loads of fun. Bingo, thanks very much Will and Kate! Couldn’t have done it without you, and I mean that quite literally.
I have to say, though, that at no point will I be watching the royal wedding on TV. I also won’t be checking it out in the papers. I’ve never liked weddings at the best of times, and the fact that a very royal quiche head is getting married does not change that fact.
