Living in the world of cyber sex, it’s certainly true that there are a few myths going around. And the problem with myths, of course, is that the more you hear them, the truer they seem to become.
Well, I am here, now, to tell you that this isn’t always the case. Here are a few cyber sex myths debunked hopefully once and for all for some people!
1) Dating a slapper is dangerous because you might catch a disease: while it’s true that the chance of catching a sexually transmitted disease increases the more you have sex, if you are cautious then you should be as safe as anyone. The key thing is to never break the condom rule. Break that and you are quite literally asking for it.

2) It’s a pain, going online, and you only meet weirdos: OK, well this one is a little more difficult to debunk…because, let’s face it, there are more than a few weirdos out there! But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t still trust people. There are an awful lot of people out there who are cool and safe to play with, so please don’t tar everyone with the same brush!
3) The girls in the ads aren’t real: also a tricky subject! We won’t deny that some dating services have been known to use fake photos, but that certainly isn’t everyone! There are literally thousands of girls and real men up and down the country who are up for a bit of modern sex fun. And now to point 4…
4) DO chat online before you go and meet someone. Why? Because you will get to know who someone is before you meet, and because humour is important. Yes, it’s a physical relationship, but it’s still crucial to get to know what kind of personality somebody has!
5) Nobody will message you back: for some reason, I have met a lot of people who have tried the online hook-up thing and it hasn’t worked for them. Then I ask them if they have put a profile and photos up, and they usually look at me blankly. But hey, here’s the thing: you do need to sell yourself online and the profile and photos are important parts of this process which cannot be missed out! So always take some time out of your busy day to make sure you are presenting yourself well…those photos are all that stand between you and plenty of naughty night or day-time fun!
